Kate Dollarhyde is a WGA-nominated writer of speculative fiction. Her stories have been published in Fireside FictionLackington’s, Beneath Ceaseless Skiesand other magazines. She is also a narrative designer at Obsidian Entertainment, where she’s working on the retro-futuristic RPG The Outer Worlds. She was formerly the editor-in-chief of the short fiction magazine Strange Horizons. She lives in California.

Fear fought with longing in Sylvie’s chest. Fear was strong but longing larger and always growing. Nothing the carrot could do to her was worse than life without her parents.

‘Yes, for the largest rabbit you’ve ever seen, the most tender, succulent rabbit. Yes, I can do it. Bring it here, and I can do it.’”
